Weekend Workshop for Adults - November 2014
An exploration of how we make and break connection
Join two therapists, a group of curious adults, and a herd of horses as we explore some of our earliest relationship dynamics and how they impact the way we do relationship today.
Attachment is a hot-button topic in the field of psychology right now and rightfully so. It isn’t just about mom as the standard therapy joke goes, but it is about how our first experiences in the world lead us to form beliefs about how the world works and how we fit into it. Our nervous system responds and shapes itself to that early world, even as we are establishing patterns of seeking or avoiding contact with others.
When we move to connect with other humans or even horses, we often unknowingly approach them with expectations and behaviors learned very early on in our development.
Horses are master-connectors and they can help guide us to open up barriers in some areas and strengthen boundaries in other places to help us better master the art of relationship.
Each two-hour group will provide roughly one hour for process work (sharing, reflection, feedback from other group members) and one hour for activities with the horses to help support us in our various roles as mothers, lovers, coworkers, and friends. Experiences with the horses will help increase our capacity to quiet our minds, expand our hearts, and be more present in the moment.
Activities with other participants and the horses will allow us to practice the following skills:
Weekend Workshop - September 2014
Again this fall, we invite you to return to your authentic, essential self through your love of horses and your connections with them and others.
The goal of this group is to give women a chance to set aside the busy-ness of life for a few hours and to connect with themselves in the supportive field of other women and horses. This helps people locate a sense of inner knowing and strength, empowering them to make long-awaited shifts in their lives.
A women's process group with Laura Campbell and Mica Graves where we invite you to return to your authentic, essential self through your love of horses and your connections with them and others.
A 5-week class with Mica Graves for adults wanting to deepen their bonds with horses and others.
Want more from your relationships as a partner or parent? Let horses show you how to be more present and available for connection.
As herd animals, horses are masters at building relationships. They have an incredible instinct to join up with others who help them feel safe and strong—part of a bigger whole.
In this 5-week class, we will explore some of these themes (follow link to read more):
